I could not ignore the fact that one of my favourite birds took out Bird of the Year. I’d been wanting to make a kākāpō pattern as part of ‘Forgotten Land’, but I had to narrow down the collection and it didn’t quite make the cut. Luckily this mini-collection ticks all the boxes!
How good would this look as bedding? Congratulations kākāpō!
Evaluation
I love the cuteness of the kākāpō and how the colours are quite true to life. I’m also pleased with the coordinate pattern made up of footprints. I think this really captures the elusiveness and mystery of the bird.
